"I chose the horizontal bird roost as a gift for my parents, who love birds but who no longer have the physical strength to pound posts into the ground or hammer nails into tree trunks. Although the roost includes a hanging hook, my idea was that my parents could just set the roost on a table on their patio. On my order form, I described my goal to the merchant, and asked him or her to tell me if this seemed like a bad plan (i.e., if birds wouldn't choose to enter a roost on a patio table). The roost arrived quickly, in packaging secure enough to be re-used for sending to my parents. The roost itself looked great--solid and sturdy, big and sweet-smelling--cozy protection for small birds on wintery nights. Inside the roost was a hand-written note from the seller, saying he thought my plan was wonderful. So I sent the roost to my parents. They were thrilled to receive it, and they love it. They had no trouble positioning it on their patio, where they can easily watch the birds going in and out. I would gladly make future purchases from Coveside Bird Houses. The roost was even nicer than described on the website, and the seller was personable and a pleasure to do business with. And I'd especially recommend this particular bird-roost for people whose age or health prevents them from mounting a roost in the traditional ways."
