Jones, 20 of Welford Air Force Base, Newberry, England,
died Friday, Sept. 25, 1987 in a South Hampton, England
hospital from injuries received in an auto accident. ....He was born in Mt. Gilead April 29, 1967, a son of Jack and Mary Faye (Smith) Jones, who reside in Edison. ....Airman Jones was serving at Welford Air Force Base. He had been a squadron leader at each base on which he served and had recently been appointed to the Honor Guard. ....He graduated in 1985 from Mt. Gilead High School where he had been active in Industrial Arts Club, DECA, and baseball. He also had been active in the youth baseball leagues and the American Legion Post 162 Baseball Team in Marion. He attended Gilead Friends Church and had been a member of the Lucky Leaf 4-H Club. ....Surviving in addition to his parents are a brother, Jim Jones of Edison; two sisters, Mrs. Thomas (Jennifer) Forrest of Mt. Gilead and Jacquelyn Jones of Abington, Va., and his grandparents, Mr. And Mrs. William Smith of Akron. |
